Retirement
This witty poem is written by Irene Kerr, who lives in Calgary. She shares with her views with us on what to do once retired ….
Retirement
Goodbye tension, receive the pension
A gift of retirement per say,
Go forth and travel, let time unravel
Inhibitions be gone seize the day.
A cruise on a liner, scarce would be finer
With tropical islands to view,
See ancient lands some surrounded by sand
Each port so exciting and new.
Perhaps board a train, cross expansive terrain
Ride in comfort and style nothing less,
Stop only at borders, abide by guards orders,
Proceed on the Orient Express.
There’s always a flight, some by day or by night
Destinations to explore – take a look
Should funds be low and there’s no means to go
You can visit them all – read a book.
