More Party Politics

As the 2015 General Election date draws nearer, Teresa Harrison-Best has written a witty poem about our voting options!

Party Politics

I’m in a total quandary
as to how I ought to vote.
Do I follow all the mainstream spiel,
or let my ballot float?

There’s a plethora to choose from,
from blue to red to green.
Yellow could be blue’s best friend,
and red is in between.

Then, of course, there’s all the wings
and all the wets as well.
Left of centre has me stumped.
Does Liberal ring a bell?

UKIP’s now come out to play,
they think they’ve got a chance.
The Unionists just stick around,
Plaid Cymru takes their stance.

Scotland wants to come on board
and seal a true alliance.
But could it be a cunning plan
in a final noncompliance ?

Our Greens now want a climate change
to clear away the fog.
The passageway to Downing Street
could be an uphill slog.

Independents stand for what is right,
but we need to know what’s wrong.
The Monster Raving Loonies say,
goodbye, farewell, so long!

The Scottish Independent folk
still want to change the union flag.
Whether in or out, we just don’t know,
the cat’s not out of the bag.

Respect, they say are socialist,
the Marxists disagree.
The Pirate party just bobs along,
as all are out at sea.

Whether it’s in or out, or left or right,
nothing seems to fit.
I’m heading to a darkened room,
as my head’s about to split!!!
