The Knitting

This amusing poem was written by Teresa Harrison-Best who saw a funny picture today regarding some one’s unravelled knitting.

She thought it could be quite interesting to see how a dog and cat would blame each other in this event, as they were the only two suspects!

The Knitting

She saw her knitting unravelled,
then really hit the roof.
The dog and cat were present,
but would she get the truth?

The dog jumped up and blamed the cat,
he spilled the beans to her.
“She’s the one who wrecked your yarn,
look, it’s even in her fur!”

“So, Puddles, come explain yourself.
How did that wool get there?”
The cat just stretched and looked at her,
without a single care.

“The dog is just excitable,
quite ridiculous I know.
He jumped onto the woollen shawl,
then really had a go.”

The dog howled out he was so mad,
“She’s lying through her teeth.
She tossed the wool around the room
whilst she was underneath.”

The cat now blinked and had a wash.
Eventually she said,
“Perhaps you should just take a look
underneath old Fido’s bed.”

The woman found the needles there,
poor Fido got the blame.
Puddles then went back to sleep,
she felt no sense of shame!!!
(But she did wink!)
