Ghost Busters

This poignant poem was written by Suzanne Kelsey.

GHOST BUSTERS

I am going to write a horror story
So I hope you are not of a nervous disposition
Because it is a rather haunting tale
Of a rather scary and ghostly apparition

I often see an unexpected vision
Of an old and decrepit spectre
That appears to me more and more
I need Sherlock Holmes to detect her

She haunts me in the morning
Just after I have risen from my bed
The rather frightening sight of her
Filling me with constant dread

She has started following me into town
Creeping up unexpectedly in any shop
Imitating every single move I make
I do wish that she would just stop

I thought at first it was my grandma
Who sadly left us a long time ago
She has a similar mischievous expression
That I somehow recognise and know

It is indeed a very weird mystery
As she only manifests herself in the day
In a mirror or a reflecting window
I just wish she would go away!!!!!!!

Suzanne Kelsey

I am now (reluctantly) reitred from my work as a teacher/lecturer which has been a very long and happy career that focused on education, child development, dance, drama and teacher training. I was also a health and fitness tutor and contemporary dance teacher in my spare time! I love tai chi, photography, music, dance, theatre, reading, walking, mindfulness/meditation, social media and learning something new every day. I write poetry to raise money for good causes. I am passionate about campaigning for social justice and saving our NHS here in the UK. I also love my partner, my family and my friends and like to spend as much time with them as possible.
