Dog of the Day
Dogs bring so much pleasure to our lives, and this feature is all about the dogs in our Silversurfers community.
Feel free to share a picture of your four legged friends on our Facebook page marked #DogOfTheDay or in our Showcase marked #DogOfTheDay, and we will choose a new one each day to add to our collection below …. If you want to say a few things about your dog’s personality, such as likes or dislikes or what makes them so lovable, we can get to know them a bit better too!
Meet our founder member … Stanley
“I am the apple of my grandad’s eye! I live with my brother from another mother, Buddy and also Roxy, my sister from another Mr! It would be unfair to say that I am grandad’s favourite as the other two would get upset!”

This is Buddy turning left!
“Buddy is a Doberman who is almost 6. He is a gentle giant, loves everybody and everybody loves Buddy. He is also a great dancer and makes everyone laugh which he loves!”
This is Bracken, a 14-year-old Jack Russel
Despite being 14, he still enjoys 3 walks a day. He has a great temperament and loves everybody, apart from the postman who gets barked at as soon as he comes up the drive!
This is Branwen, is a 10-month-old Irish Wolfhound x Deerhound
Branwen (known as Bran) lives with her little sister Sky who’s an Irish wolfhound. They are named after the original pair of wolfhounds in Celtic mythology who were turned into hounds from a brother and sister as revenge. Bran loves galloping across the beach and dunes in Swansea.
This is Yogi, A 5-year-old basset hound
Yogi can sleep anywhere, anytime!
This is Sasha, a Miniature Schnauzer in the Autumn leaves
This is Holly, with all her 10 very beautiful babies less than 8 hours old!

This is Darcy, a 4-year-old Beagle
This is Hendrix a 7-year-old Cockerpoo
He is cared for during the week by his grandparents, and he is the most adorable sweet natured dog!
This is Wee Pixie Munro she is a 7 yr old Fourche Terrier (Yorkie/Westie cross)
She is a loveable scruff with a big attitude problem who rules the roost!
This is Pip, a 2-year-old English Springer
Pip loves mud baths!
This is Purdy, an 11-week-old German Shorthaired Pointer
Full of fun & not scared of anything!

This is Henry, a 6-year-old Westie cross
This is Annie, a rescued Jack Russell and we’ve had her for 6 years.
“Like all the best dogs, she’s a rescued Jack Russell and we’ve had her for 6 years. She’s had lots of health problems but has literally bounced back from every single one. She is a beautiful, gentle, loving dog and we feel privileged to have her as a pet. This photo was taken just after she’d been for a swim in the Cromford Canal!”
Ledley is a 16-month-old Cavachon
This is Monty – a working cocker spaniel. He’s eleven now and still running around like a spring chicken!
