M & S Autumn TV ad features grey hair and curves
Finally, M&S has realised that women need to see the clothes clearly, and has illustrated this with the new Autumn/Winter 2013/13 TV advertising campaign. Click on the arrow to see the latest advert.
We can now see each trend, from military to ladylike to geometric to textured in groups, with appropriate accessories, showing how each look will work on women of all ages, sizes and heights.
In other words on real people like you and me! For the Autumn Winter Collection 12/13 the brand has swapped celebrities like Twiggy, Dannii Minogue and Myleene Klass for models that better represent their customers.
The new M&S models range in age from 20 to 57, and in size from eight to a 16. The inclusion of bigger, older and shorter models is seen as a landmark for fashion advertising.
The strapline, For Every Woman You Are, may be a bit irritating, but this is a small gripe in a triumphant turnaround.
