A new Europe wide law is about to come into force in the UK extending the copyright protection for original iconic furniture designs from 25 to 70 years.
Originally, the change in UK law was to be implemented in 2020. Businesses that sell replica furniture could become liable to a potential fine of up to £50,000, and a custodial sentence of up to 10 years.
