Grab the Tongs and Novelty Apron, it’s BBQ Season
With National BBQ week fast approaching it is that time of year to invite friends over for a weekend BBQ in the hope that April showers are firmly behind us.
If your garden has been slightly neglected over the harsh winter months however there may be a few jobs to undergo before you crack open the Pimms. Along with the usual tasks of brushing the cobwebs off the BBQ and getting the gas or coal in, mowing the lawn and trimming and pruning the shrubs and hedges you may decide to clean and refurbish your wooden garden furniture.
Nobody wants to send their guests away with stains from the dirty garden furniture on their new beige slacks and white summer dresses so it is worth taking a bit of time to clean and restore them. Depending on how much work you want to do, you can simply clean your outdoor furniture or go as far as sanding down and repainting it.
Before you do go slapping another lick of paint on though there are a few steps to take on the way and some useful tools to help you. Mending cracks in the wood and sanding down the surfaces is a great starting point to freshen up your furniture, and once you have done that you can oil or stain the furniture before applying a wax. If you prefer, instead of an oil or stained finish you can paint them an altogether new colour.
Take a look at the guide Simply Garden Furniture have put together and get your wooden garden furniture looking good as new.
Just make sure the paint has dried before people arrive. Now, where has the sun gone?
