Cut back, prune and divide
To help your plants thrive in the garden make sure to cut back, prune & divide in order to help plants flourish to their full potential.
With perennials such as Pulmonaria and Doronicum you can encourage fresh foliage to emerge by cutting back clumps. Dividing hostas will enable a healthy growth while they are in development and even deadheading daffodils and tulips will ensure a touch of colour will prevail.
Support for growing vegetables
Support for your vegetables is important while they are growing and using netting, pea sticks (use for peas) or even pruned twigs will help vegetables thrive. Veg such as broad beans can be prevented from falling over once pods are produced by stretching string along the tops of the plants. It’s also advisable to remove dead foliage, sideshoots and leaves from plants to give them enough energy to produce a good yield, but leaving enough for plants to continue to grow.
