Clean jewellery
You don’t need a special solution to clean your rings and other jewellery. Leave to soak in vodka for five minutes then rinse – it should restore much of the sparkle.
Revive your flowers
A few drops of vodka and a teaspoon of sugar added to fresh water will help revive a bouquet of flowers and extend its life even further. Be sure to also trim the stems for best results.
Remove odours
Vodka is brilliant for helping to eliminate odours from hard-to-wash items like curtains, pillows and sofas. Put some vodka into a spray bottle and spritz onto items – once dried it will absorb the scent and won’t leave your items smelling like vodka either.
Refresh delicate clothing
If you have a collection of vintage clothing or dry clean only items that you want to quickly refresh at home, try this trick. Put vodka into the tank of your clothing steamer and use it to refresh your items. Once the steam evaporates you’ll have also removed any unwanted smells.
Remove sticker residue
You can easily remove sticker reside from glass and plastic with vodka. Dip a cloth in vodka then use to dab gently and saturate the area. You’ll eventually be able to wipe the residue away.
