Feeling festive? Top UK craft fairs in November
Whether it’s hand-painted Christmas tree ornaments, delicately embroidered stockings or homemade holiday hampers, there’s no better time to feed your artisanal cravings than the weeks leading up to December 25th.
Craft fairs are a great way to get ideas and pick up materials for Christmas craft projects. You can also shop for handmade gifts and take in the festive atmosphere with food, drink and activities for the whole family. Throughout the month of November, there are a number of craft fairs taking place across the UK. Here’s a rundown of some of the best fairs this month:
Crafts for Christmas | Birmingham | 6-9 Nov
Venue: National Exhibition Centre (NEC)

Highlights: Live Christmas music, festive food and drink, beautiful gift-wrapping services and the ‘Prima Craft Theatre’, where you can learn top crafting techniques from the experts.
The Art Craft and Design Show | Suffolk | 7-9 Nov
Venue: Newmarket Racecourse
Cost: £5 (standard ticket), £4 (concessions)
Highlights: More than 160 exhibitors, unique Christmas gifts, fantastic location within the ‘Millennium Grandstand’ and plenty to eat at the “Good Taste’ food pavilion.
Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair | London | 12-16 Nov
Venue: Business Design Centre, Islington (BDC)
Cost: £13
Highlights: Gifts and decorations made by hundreds of British artisan designers, delicious products from local farmers, festive fabrics, handmade garments, expert-led tutorials in the ‘Lifestyle Theatre’ and much more!
Knebworth Christmas Fair | Knebworth, Hertfordshire | 14-16 Nov
Venue: Knebworth House
Cost: £4 (standard ticket), £3 (concessions), £2.50 (child)
Highlights: Wide range of handicrafts and handmade gifts, chocolates and confectionery from local artisans, real reindeer and barn owls, and the chance to meet Father Christmas in his grotto.
The Knitting and Stitching Show | Harrogate | 20-23 November
Venue: Harrogate International Centre
Cost: £13 (standard ticket), £4 (concessions)
Highlights: More than 400 exhibitors, hundreds of workshops, galleries showcasing the work of well-known textile artists, and everything you need to stock up on supplies for your winter sewing projects.
The Shugborough Christmas Fair | Stafford | 28-30 Nov
Venue: Mansion House at Shugborough Estate
Cost: £8 (standard ticket), £6.50 (concessions)
Highlights: Held in a magnificent, candle-lit mansion, with festive arts, crafts, gifts and food for the whole family. Children under 16 are free.
Hobbycrafts | London | 28-30 Nov
Venue: ExCel London Exhibition and Convention Centre
Cost: £8 (adults), £7 (seniors)
Highlights: Expert-led craft demonstrations and lots of free workshops, including jewelry making, beading, knitting, stitching and papercraft.
