I Will Find You by Harlan Coben
Book Synopsis
Yet another of Harlan Coben’s blockbusting novels thrusts its way into our book club – and with good reason. I Will Find You is a heartstopping story of false imprisonment, perilous escape, and a race against the clock to find justice. David Burroughs knows he didn’t murder his toddler son, but a jury decided he did. Can he find the real killer before he is re-captured and incarcerated for the rest of his days? Coben’s twists and turns will keep you reading into the night.
Eye for An Eye by M. J. Arlidge
Book Synopsis
A pulse-racing, thought-provoking, roller-coaster of a read, this. M J Arlidge poses some deep questions amidst all the action: can notorious convicted killers, murderers of the worst and most depraved kind, ever re-enter society? And if they do, what happens if the families of their victims know where to find them?
The Escape by Ruth Kelly
Book Synopsis
A genuinely creepy tale, this, atmospheric and haunting. Adele and Jack, a young, hard-up British couple are ‘gifted’ a beautiful chateau in the south of France by a mysterious billionaire benefactor. They know the offer is too good to be true, but they can’t resist temptation. At first, all seems well – nine bedrooms, gorgeous gardens, sumptuous swimming pool – but then? They disappear. Into thin air. Adele’s desperately worried sister drives to France to investigate. And that’s when the real, claustrophobic mystery truly begins. Edge-of-the-seat storytelling.
The Last Resort by Heidi Perks
Book Synopsis
Is your marriage going through a bad patch? Endless rows, furious sulks, separation looming? How about going to Couples Therapy? Maybe a good counsellor could save your relationship. Or maybe you should think again, because the wise therapist you’ve chosen may have quite another agenda. In this clever psychological thriller, troubled couple Erin and Will look to therapist Maggie Day to save their marriage. How very mistaken they are.
Freeze by Kate Simants
Book Synopsis
Kate Simants has drawn on her years at C4 and the BBC to conjure up an all-too-believable and incredibly tense portrait of the reality behind a reality TV show – the infighting, the cut corners, and in the case of Freeze – the murders. Set in the icy Arctic and totally cut off, Freeze sees eight contestants in a leadership challenge with a £100,000 prize. And then the murders begin. Chilling stuff, in every sense.
This Could Be Everything by Eva Rice
Book Synopsis
A gorgeous, moving story about a young woman finding happiness again after her life is shattered by grief. It’s 1990 in glamorous Notting Hill, a London alive with pop music, models and film stars. At 19, February Kingdom is knocked sideways by tragedy, but her journey back to joy is tenderly chronicled in this enchanting feel-good novel. A comfort blanket to snuggle under this autumn.
