Whip up a Bake for Bumps cake sale!
Did you know? Each year in the UK 1 in 30 babies are born with a condition which may affect them for life.
The children’s medical research charity, Sparks, is holding their second Bake for Bumps cake sale between Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 May and they want YOU to join them! The money raised will help fund vital research into conditions affecting babies, children and pregnant mothers.
The event is a delicious way to raise money for the charity as well as a great chance to get baking with your grandchildren. Cake sales can be held at home, school or wherever you fancy and you can get your friends and family to come along with their own tasty treats or simply enjoy the ones you’ve made!
If you aren’t able to hold a cake sale between 15-18 May, don’t worry! Sparks would be delighted for you to support the event on whatever day suits you best.
The dough you raise will help Sparks to improve the lives of children
Did you know? Over 50% of twins are born premature. Twins Lily and Grace were born at 30 weeks by C-section and both weighed a tiny 3lbs 9oz. They weren’t able to breathe on their own so they were taken straight to the neonatal intensive care unit. The girls spent seven weeks in hospital. Lily and Grace are now happy and healthy girls who have just celebrated their first birthday! For every guest you invite, for every slice you sell, and every crumb eaten, you will be making a difference to twins like Lily & Grace, and their families, across the UK.
