Keep Your Eyes Peeled For Wonky Veg This Spring
At Morrisons, we’re working closely with our growers to reduce food waste – so we buy their whole crop including ‘wonky’ fruit and veg.
That means you’ll sometimes find crooked carrots, pointy potatoes, bumpy blueberries, skew-whiff strawberries and other ‘beautiful on the inside’ produce on our shelves which, once you’ve sliced, diced, chopped and chipped it, all tastes as great as their Class 1 cousins.

Here are just some of the weird and naturally wonderful fruits and veggies you might come across in Morrisons stores and online at Morrisons.com – with some of our favourite recipes to try with them. Why not share your wonky discoveries (and dishes) with us on our Facebook page – @Silversurfers50?
Wonky Peppers
Stuff them with feta cheese, tomatoes and herbs for a fun and full-of-flavour supper.
Wonky Potatoes
Roast them for an extra rustic-looking and delicious traditional side dish with your Sunday Lunch.
We want more and more customers to be able to afford to enjoy eating fruit and veg, and to help improve the average number of servings they eat from the current 2.5 of their recommended 5-a-day [i]. That’s why we’ve made a number of ‘Wonky Veg Promises’.
Wonky Onions
Peel and slice just like you would a perfectly round onion – in this delicious gravy you’d never know the difference.
Wonky Lemons
Make a zesty little showstopper with Wonky lemons for an easy squeezy dessert.
