5 ghoulish Halloween treats to make with the grandkids
As Halloween creeps up on us, now’s a great time to keep your little monsters entertained in the kitchen – with this scary selection of sweet treat recipes.
1. Banana Ghouls
Ingredients:
- 4 bananas
- 100g white chocolate
- 100g desiccated coconut
- 25g dark chocolate
2. Mini Truffle Mummies
Ingredients:
- 350g dark chocolate, broken up
- 350ml double cream
- 60g unsalted butter, melted
- 300g white chocolate
- 1 coloured icing, red, green, purple and white
3. Chocolate Brownie Ghosts
Ingredients:
- 16 pieces chocolate brownie bites
- 500g icing sugar
- 1 packet large marshmallows
- 25g piping icing (chocolate)
4. Chocolate Orange Spider Cupcakes
Ingredients:
- 125g butter
- 125g golden caster sugar
- 110g self raising flour
- 2½ tbsps cocoa powder
- 2 eggs beaten lightly
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 50g chocolate chips
- 4 tbsps buttercream icing
- 1 chocolate strands
- 3 packs Mikado
- 50g plain chocolate
- 1 liquorice allsorts
5. Spider Toffee Apples
Ingredients:
- 6 apples
- 5 tbsp clear honey
- 225g demerara sugar
- 25g butter
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 icing pens
- 1 greaseproof paper
