Video: The magical Kew Gardens winter lights show will make you feel all festive
If you’re looking for a location for a romantic festive date or an excuse to visit the capital as Christmas approaches, Kew Gardens in south west London has just launched its seasonal lights display.
The Royal Botanic Gardens have undergone a transformation after-dark with sparkly trees, illuminated globes and glowing trails – made up with more than one million lights. Visitors walk through the gardens adorned with silvery shards of light, snowflakes and stars. There’s a chorus of singing trees, and marshmallows to toast in the ‘fire garden’. At Palm House, comes the show-stopping laser-beam finale.
For the kids, Santa and his elves will perform along the trail and a there’s a Victorian carousel. For the adults, there’s mulled wine of course.
Christmas at Kew is on every night from now until January 1, from 5pm to 10pm. Tickets for Christmas at Kew, costing £18.50 for adults and £12 for children aged 4-16 during peak times, are available here.
