In Pictures: Queen pays visit to Chelsea Flower Show
Established in 1913, the event has become one of the world’s biggest showcases for horticultural excellence.
The Queen has visited the Chelsea Flower Show, as the fine spell of weather continued into a new week.
In her role as patron of the Royal Horticultural Society, the Queen cast her eye over the different gardens created for the event.
Just two days after her grandson Prince Harry married Meghan Markle amid blazing sunshine and an abundance of flowers at Windsor Castle, the Queen was once again among the blooms at the annual festival of flora.
Among the gardens she viewed was the Feel Good Garden to mark the 70th birthday of the National Health Service.
Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband were among the early visitors to this year’s show.
Established in 1913, the flower show has become one of the world’s biggest showcases for horticultural excellence, attracting visitors and exhibitors from across the globe.
The Queen and other members of the Royal Family – including the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Princess Royal and Princess Alexandra – will attend the event later on.
