Amazing Greys: New TV show celebrating precious pensioners
Young contestants will pit themselves against talented pensioners in brand new TV show, Amazing Greys.
Made for ITV and produced by ITV Studios, the family show aims to prove that age is just a number and will highlight the amazing achievements of some truly special older people.
The programme will take the form of a game show, with young contestants each trying to beat three Amazing Greys for the chance to win a £10,000 prize.
However, each of the Greys is an older person with a unique talent – one that they’ve spent a whole lifetime perfecting – ensuring the young upstarts will have a tough challenge ahead of them. Contestants able to beat two out of a potential three Greys will go home with the money.
Hosted by Paddy McGuinness, the show offers a refreshing perspective when it comes to older people on the small screen. And on hand to encourage and represent the Greys as they battle the young pretenders is Angela Rippon.
Paddy McGuinness said: “Amazing Greys proves that appearances can be deceptive as our contestants take on some of the UK’s most talented pensioners. Be it sport, general knowledge or something completely unique, our ‘golden oldies’ will give their all as the younger contestants take them on.”
Each Amazing Grey has been specifically chosen for the strength of their talent and Britain’s TV screens will be treated to the chance to celebrate achievements that have taken many years of painstaking work.
Angela Rippon, provides support to the Amazing Greys as they show off their unique skills, added: “The show will celebrate some of our most talented senior citizens and I’ll be there to cheer them on as they take on the younger contestants.”
Tune in to ITV this Saturday, 12th April at 8.30pm for the chance to check out the Amazing Greys and the young contestants who think they have a chance of beating them.
