Lionel Richie born June 20, 1949, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and lately a television judge on American Idol.
He first achieved musical success with the Commodores in the 1970s and from 1980 as an artist in his own right.
During his solo career, Richie became one of the most successful singers and has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time.
