Scandi Song Selection
Aside from the indomitable ABBA how many other Scandinavian musical artists can you recall?
Here are six of our favourites:
Secret Garden from Norway sung their way to winning the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest with the beautifully haunting Nocturne.
Ace of Base from Sweden with their catchy tune I Saw the Sign which saw further success with the film Pitch Perfect.
Again from Sweden the pop duo Roxette had success in the late 80s with The Look
Norweigan band A-ha were a talented bunch with their iconic 1984 single Take on Me, promoted by an innovative video where a cartoon figure beckons the reader to join him in a comic strip.
Denmark’s Olsen Brothers were another Eurovision winner, this time in 2000 with Fly on the Wings of Love
Who could forget the very talented and quirky Bjork from Iceland with her hit single It’s Oh So Quiet from 1995?
