Forget what they say about stamp collecting. David Bowie First Day Covers bring glitz and glamour to the collectables market. This is your opportunity to be one of the ‘Heroes’ who gets a stunning limited edition stamps collectable from Buckingham Covers.
On March 14th these new stamps will be released but don’t waste your money on mass produced items. We are sure you’ll be singing ‘Oh! You Pretty Things’ when you receive your stunning covers in the post.
Not only are these covers highly collectable, this is the first time in the UK that stamps have been produced which celebrate a solo music artist.
Buckingham First Day Covers are more than just stamps, we produce with the collector in mind, our covers are quintessentially British, handmade and we pride ourselves of the care and attention we put into each and every one.
Be sure to collect the very best in the business with Buckingham Covers.
V.I.P Section (Very Important Postmarks!)
For the ‘Absolute Beginners’, don’t forget just how important postmarks are to value and collectability. Our postmark (date & location ink stamp) for the first day cover is at ‘Heddon Street, London’ and features the iconic lightning bolt design. Heddon Street is famously where the cover shoot for David Bowie’s 1972 landmark album, Ziggy Stardust took place. The album helped to establish Bowie as the ‘Starman’, he pushed the boundaries in the music industry over a career spanning 50 years and remains a strong influence on artists today.
For our miniature sheet cover, the postmark is Stardust Crescent, Swindon and the design includes a Black Star. Bowie’s final album.
Aladdin Sane Vinyl Art
Still in love with vinyl? What better way to celebrate the era of Bowie? Teaming up with Tolhurst Vinyl Art we will produce 150 of these incredible framed items. The perfect dinner party conversion piece. A David Bowie vinyl, cut by water-jet into the famous Aladdin Sane shape, exclusive to Buckingham Covers. Mounted alongside the brilliant Bowie first day cover and presented in a stunning black box frame.
‘Where Are We Now?’ well let’s look back at other music from the ‘Golden Years’ of our generation and add Pink Floyd to the mix.
In 2016 there was a Pink Floyd stamp issue, if these are more your cup of tea then there is a very limited amount of covers in stock for you to get your hands on. Or better still, buy both and start to build a beautiful collection of music covers. ‘Another Brick in the Wall’, or as we’d rather say; “Another Cover for the Wall”.
