As we’re sure you know, this year the Queen celebrates seventy years of service, and makes history as the first British monarch to reach a Platinum Jubilee.
We’re getting closer and closer to the Jubilee weekend in June, but there’s still plenty of time to mark it in a memorable way that will also support those who have given their all for Queen and country!
Roll out the bunting for our veterans
When a military career comes to an end for medical reasons, the future can seem overwhelming. Your support can help wounded veterans take control of their recovery journey and have the best possible future. Some may only need help for a short time to get them back on track, others will need our support for the rest of their lives. Whether it’s funding adaptations to a veteran’s home so they can live in dignity and comfort, helping them sleep better, providing counselling for their mental health, or supporting their loved ones, we change lives for the better.
Get in the street party spirit
If anything deserves a street party, it’s a momentous occasion like the Jubilee! The last two years have seen so many of us forced apart – so why not take the opportunity to embrace community spirit by coming together with friends, family, neighbours or colleagues over the Jubilee weekend (2 – 5 June) or any time that suits you!
By taking donations in exchange for entry tickets and food sales at your event; asking local businesses to donate prizes for raffles; or popping collection buckets on lunch tables and at entrances – you won’t just be commemorating seventy years on the throne for our Queen (and Head of the Armed Forces), you’ll be lending valuable support to wounded veterans and their families across the country.
If street parties aren’t your thing, don’t worry! There are no wrong ways to celebrate the Jubilee – especially if you’re raising money for our heroes and their loved ones. If you’d still like to do something special, we’ve got plenty more fundraising inspiration on our website.
