Staying connected with the best church websites in the UK
These days, the online world offers a whole new way to stay connected to your fellow worshippers and your church. Many churches have their own websites, giving you a place to share information, find out important news and look for ways to support your congregation.
Stay up to date with church related news, local charity drives or interesting research by connecting to your faith online. This can be an especially wonderful experience for anyone who finds it difficult to make it in to their local place of worship or is looking for an alternative way to be involved. We’ve found some of the best church websites available online to help you get started.
Finding the best church websites online
The UK is lucky to have some excellent church websites on offer. One good example is the Church of Christ the King, which serves Brighton and Hove. There, you’ll not only find a lot of local facts and events, but some inspirational blogs, artworks and ideas that will be interesting to many different worshippers. The blog features videos, interviews with fascinating members of the congregation and some nice ideas for charity drives and events, making it an excellent resource.
Another handy choice is the Hillsong site, which connects a church that worships in five different locations throughout London. However, the information and resources it offers are useful for worshippers in other areas of the UK and the clean yet funky design makes it a great choice for a family that worships together.
The Mosaic Church in Leeds also has a very useful website that acts as a hub for its three different physical locations. Not only is this a beautifully designed website, it also offers some excellent content, including its ‘exploring faith’ section. There, you’ll find a number of essays and audio interviews that give you an insight into the basics of the Christian faith and some of the people who choose to worship.
Expanding your horizons
Being able to access information about different churches online is a wonderful way to learn more about the faith you’re passionate about. Grace Generation Church in Northern Ireland has created a website that aims to encapsulate something of the warmth and welcoming attitude exhibited by its congregation. You’ll be able to find out more about the community, local events and also hear about people’s individual journeys while learning more about Jesus.
The East End Church of London proves that you don’t have to be a big church to make a difference. Their unusual website is very easy to navigate and it has a very simple message of forgiveness and compassion. A highlight is the ‘preaches’ section, where you can listen to a number of different sermons.
It’s also worth checking out the Kingdom Faith Churches site, which is actually an umbrella site for five different churches and happens to contain lots of great content and resources, from videos and audio clips to books, sheet music and teaching sets. See if you can find the perfect way to share your faith online on some of the best church sites available.
