Celebrating Hochanda’s 5th Birthday: A Look Back!
This month, the Home of Crafts, Hobbies and Arts is hitting a huge milestone… that’s right, it’s Hochanda’s 5th birthday!
With plans in motion for their biggest event yet, there’s a lot to look forward to, but they’re here today to take a look back and celebrate just how far they’ve come since August 2015. Read on to learn more!
First of all, Hochanda would like to say a big thank you for all of your support over the years, whether you have read their blogs, tuned into their shows or bought crafty goodies from their website! They say that your enthusiasm inspires and keeps them doing what they love.
On 21st August 2015, Hochanda aired for the first time to over 25 million UK homes. Having a background in the retail sector and in shopping TV, their founders Paul Wright and Val Kaye already knew that this is the start of something big. Their dream of giving small businesses a platform to share their amazing products and highlight their talent by bringing quality craft, hobbies and arts inspiration to the world was becoming a reality!
Spending the next few years building their brand and recruiting their amazing team, Hochanda focused on their homely feel, getting to know their audience through social media and meeting them at craft events across the UK. With their brilliant team of presenters and fabulously talented guests educating, entertaining, and inspiring their audience, fuelling their passion and creativity, it’s no wonder that Hochanda’s popularity soon rocketed!
As the Home of Crafts, Hobbies and Arts, Hochanda has been bringing their audience a wide variety of shows since day one. Ranging from papercraft and art supplies to sewing, jewellery making and even hobbies (including gardening, DIY, kitchen craft and many more), they showcase must-have products live on TV available on their website. The best part is that it’s all brought to you in the comfort of your own home!
A couple of years later in March 2017, Hochanda moved into the place that they now call home, Hochanda HQ, featuring state-of-the-art TV studios and full guest facilities including a green room with a private dressing room. Set to the backdrop of the beautiful Northamptonshire town of Oundle in the countryside of England, they count themselves lucky to be able to work in such a fabulous location.
Hochanda now have over 300 suppliers who are part of the Hochanda Family. Airing 24 hours a day, broadcasting live for 14 hours of each day on Sky, Freesat, Freeview and streaming in HD Online, they are proud to introduce a wide variety of crafts, hobbies and arts from their loyal family businesses.
No matter how much Hochanda grew, they never lost sight of the importance of giving their audience that warm feeling of coming home every time they switch on the TV. It’s their fun, family-friendly environment and crafting community spirit that keeps them the most loved UK craft channel.
Whether you’re a master crafter or just beginning your journey into the world of arts and crafts, you’ll soon discover Hochanda is such a fun place where you’ll find something to inspire you every single day. Congratulations Hochanda – here’s to the next five years!
