The New Kind of Excitement

The New Kind of Excitement

I used to be excited about clubbing and a meal,
but now it’s more apparent that I get that bargain deal.
A carpet cleaning system brings a tingle to my mood,
the knowledge that I got discount confirms I’m very shrewd.

Channel bags and Jimmy Choo are humdrum now to me,
compared to price cut savings on a toaster or tv.
Who cares about designer when I have a turbo mop,
the very thought of Tiffany now is something of a flop.

I even now negotiate on a mower for the lawn,
gone are those heady days when I was overdrawn.
Penny pinching coupons are used ad nauseam,
everyone’s a winner, a semi-precious gem.

My pulse rate goes quite potty if I get things half the price,
girlie brunches don’t compare, they don’t even cut the ice.
Getting things quite cheaply is my pleasure and my thrill,
nothing’s more alluring than a hardnose bartering deal!
