If Only
If Only
If you could start your life again,
turn left instead of right.
Follow your instincts of yesterday.,
yet keep distant goals in sight.
If you could see into the future
and know how your decisions turn out,
understanding it won’t all be roses,
but then, that’s what life’s all about.
“If only” is part of our living,
and we decide for reasons unknown.
The excitement of making decisions,
wrong or right, the seeds have been sown.
But, it’s probably better not knowing,
If you made the best choices or not.
Our lives, like rivers keep flowing,
And if there’s a drought, they stop.
