Remember To Hope
Remember To Hope
We’ll remember those months in the Springtime,
When Covid made all feel alone
We missed friends so much and the warmth of their touch,
But we soon turned to zoom and the phone
We’ll remember these years filled with conflict,
When war sent fierce strikes to Ukraine
How folks opened their doors, saying ‘my space is yours’,
And we so hoped for peace once again
We’ll remember the raised cost of living,
When foodbanks were used by so many
With interest rates high, lack of rented supply,
We re-learned to watch every last penny
We’ll remember this time in the Winter,
When heating was down in our houses
We will wear extra layers, we’ll be warmed by our prayers,
Snuggle close with our children and spouses
We’ll remember the talks in November,
When the world watched the great and the good
As they spoke of their visions to cut global emissions
Though we wondered if they really would
We’ll remember the tough times that happened
The efforts we all made to cope
How community spirit helped us over the limit
Fuelled by kindness and friendship and hope
