That Friday Night Feeling

That Friday Night Feeling

Friday night, you know the feeling
Your body’s tense, your mind is reeling
Another week of work completed
You met your targets, were not defeated

You earned your pennies, paid your dues
Dealt with the weeks array of news
Now take a breath, make time for fun
Your weekend off has just begun

Maybe you will paint the town
Or watch the soaps in your dressing gown
Drink wine or beer, Pimm’s by the jug
Or a comforting cocoa in your favourite mug

Two days ahead that belong to you
To do whatever you want to do
A precious interlude from the race
It’s weekend time, our saving grace
