Could you be part of a COVID-19 antiviral medication trial?
We’re helping to recruit people to take part in a world-first trial called PANORAMIC being run by the University of Oxford to find out more about antiviral medications.
They’re looking to recruit thousands of people who may be at risk of serious illness from COVID-19.
Antivirals are oral medicines will help to treat people with COVID-19 to reduce the risk of hospitalisations and death. Studies so far suggest that these new antiviral medicines could help people recover faster and reduce the need for people to be admitted to hospital.
The trial is looking for eligible people to take part in the trial.
To be eligible you must have received a positive test for COVID-19 and feel unwell with symptoms that started in the last five days, as well as being over 50, or 18-49 with an underlying medical condition.
The trial is a simple home-based trial – the antivirals are taken orally for 5 days and delivered to participant’s door. They will be asked to keep a diary of their symptoms and speak on the phone to the research team a few times about their symptoms. Participants are free to withdraw at any time.
It’s a world first opportunity to make a global impact and help save lives.
