He Didn’t Sleep A Wink

Just a little light humoured poem about an ordinary night’s sleep.  I am sure many of us can relate.  It’s good to have a laugh and see the funny side of things.

He Didn’t Sleep a Wink!!

My hubby, how he snored last night
Making such an awful din
It didn’t matter what I did
I really couldn’t win

My finger, hard pressed in my ear
To try and block it out
My temper flaring deep within
But no, I didn’t shout

My need to sleep now thwarted
As I lay there wide awake
I watched him with amusement as
Funny noises he did make

I didn’t want to wake him
That wouldn’t have been fair
He works so hard each day you see
For him I truly care

The decibels much higher now
As his snore became a roar
My goodness when he wakes I know
His throat it will be sore

The noise finally abated so
Back to sleep my mind did sink
By morning I was not refreshed
He said he didn’t sleep a wink!!
