Sole R

Sole shoe was topic from my writer’s group so I came up with a pair!

Sole Shoe

Here I am adangling, from a tree beside the river
Comments from the passers by set my lace aquiver
I do have many thoughts, relocation of my twin
But hearing words like suicide, or has he fallen in.
I have a tongue but cannot talk, have eyes but cannot see
Or I’d inform them I’m the outcome, of wearer’s drunken spree

Who Did I belong to?

I’ve been swirled around, trampled on, by hot and sweaty feet
You’d never guess how tough it’s been, as owners quite petite

The music was quite dreadful, in truth it was just crap
My heels are badly worn down, diamanté’s fell off strap

The thing that did amuse me, in fact caused me to chuckle
On a very twirly turn, I went and bust my buckle

Now it’s after midnight, I’m alone, it’s just not fair
After treating me so shabbily, she left me on the stair

I have always written poetry but when my husband died suddenly I used it as a kind of therapy. I don’t usually share these unless I feel they will help someone in distress. The ones I share are mostly humorous intended to bring a smile in what I feel can be a very lonely world... I have written four booklets and now a Corona chronicles which is just twelve poems writ while I am in jail...oh sorry I meant lockdown. Am on my way for a second booklet.. Trying to make folk smile and take a minutes release from these difficult times helps me forget my sight problems..
