Her Valentine

Another Valentine’s Poem …enjoy!

Her Valentine

She has the best admirer, so attentive and alert,
that listens to her ranting, when she drips tea down her shirt.
He never, ever argues, or tells her she’s gained weight,
just always there to greet her when she rolls in really late.

He never contradicts her, or tells her she is wrong.
Instead, he sits there patiently when she chirrups to a song.
He never steals her chocolates, or polishes off her wine.
or hogs the nice warm duvet (much), whilst farting all the time.

He’s always there for dinner, so very rarely late,
the ideal male to join her on this special dinner date,
Delighted when he sits with her, he thinks she is a queen,
for he’s that very special Valentine, so few and far between!

So what if he has whiskers, or breath that smells so ripe,
he has no need of fashion or desire for stereotype.
Yet, he ticks most of her boxes, a companion and best friend,
he’s her very special Valentine, of that you can depend.
