Lockdown continues……

Lockdown continues…….

I won’t be going out today thanks to Covid and snow,
Too cold to go for a walk, and there’s nowhere else to go.
So I will stay home again, it’s just him and me,
Do some chores, then yet another cup of tea.

All my clothes that I never get to wear,
It’s so frustrating, I could swear!
For a year I have worn joggers or jeans,
Been forever and ever, or so it seems.

No cafes, bistros, pubs or restaurants open for food,
No pubs for a drink or two to give you a good mood.
Just stay at home to cook for yourself,
Open the cupboard, what’s on the shelf!

No family or friends can we go out to meet,
No hugs or kisses, that’s no way to greet.
Look out through the window, don’t open the door
The months roll on seems like forever and more,

Holidays cancelled, funerals are grim,
Weddings plans now ditched in the bin.
A Tesco shop once a week,
Is that really my only treat!

But we are safe, warm and well fed.
In our own home, with a comfy bed.
We’ve had a good life, over three score years and ten,
I wish you all health and happiness, on that note, I say Amen!
