Fairy liquid is a household staple in Britain – and there’s so many weird and wonderful ways you can use it.
Here’s some clever uses for Fairy liquid that go well beyond washing up.
Kill garden weeds
You can make a natural weed killer for your garden by making a simple solution of white vinegar, salt and fairy liquid.
Clean carpet stains
Fairy liquid makes a very effective spot cleaner for carpets. Dissolve a small squirt of washing up liquid into warm water, then blot over the stain with a clean cloth.
Defog glasses and mirrors
A very small amount of fairy liquid rubbed into a pair of glasses or a bathroom mirror will help prevent it from fogging. A little goes a long way. Rub into the mirror and then buff away.
Floor cleaner
You don’t need any special solution to wash the floor. A squirt of Fairy liquid into warm water makes mopping up the floors easy.
Kill ants
Some Fairy liquid in a spray bottle mixed with some water makes for a natural ant killer without having to resort to harsh chemicals.
Hand wash delicates
Fairy liquid in warm water works as an easy alternative to detergent when you need to hand wash your delicates.
Pre-wash stain treatment
Rub some Fairy liquid into a clothing stain and then put directly into the washing machine to wash as normal.
Clean away grease
A solution of fairy liquid and water will also degrease kitchen cabinets, counter tops, cooker hoods and backsplashes.
