Christmas 2020

Christmas 2020

‘’What a funny Christmas this will be’’, I heard a lady say.
‘’Won’t be much celebration, even on Christmas day’’.
This covid thing has changed us, interfering with our life.
Every day gets harder as we wrestle with this strife.

We can’t do all the simple things, that normally we’d do.
Some lives are now quite miserable, maybe this is true.
But really, we are still alive, with much time left to live.
So maybe we should just accept, what this life has to give.

I guess for some, their Christmas, will be full of food and booze.
They’ll sit back happy, in their seats, and have a little snooze.
Some will get a stomach ache, or headache in the day.
But some I know will take the time to stop a while to pray.

Some will read their Bibles as they very often do.
Some will focus on the Lord and all that He went through.
Some will thank the Lord, for all the good things He provides.
Some will laugh and relate jokes, until they split their sides.

Some of them will get quite drunk, making themselves ill.
Some will remember Jesus birth and death upon that hill.
Let me please just ask you all, when Christmas Day is here,
To say a prayer of thanks to God, that we lived through this year.

Our Lord has made some promises, to all who will believe.
Give yourself to His service and He will never leave.
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself, staring in His face.
Thank Him for his Love, Compassion, Mercy and His Grace.
