National Please Yourself Day!

I believe it’s about time we had a National Please Yourself Day!

National Please Yourself Day

It’s National Please Yourself Day, where anything will go,
from wearing wings on skinny dips, or singing falsetto.
Escapades in bright pink shorts across the promenade,
then slurping gin from china cups as though it’s lemonade.

Bouncing on an antique bed in someone’s stately home,
or sitting in a formal park pretending you’re a gnome
Swinging from a chandelier whilst eating buttered toast,
maybe sprinting round the neighbourhood, screeching like a ghost.

Quoting Shakespeare on the bus whilst eating fish and chips,
or looking like a circus clown with bow tie and red lips.
Saying ‘Happy Christmas everyone’, although it’s mid July.
Dressing up as Superman and claiming you can fly!

Barking at the ‘News at Ten’ when Politicians talk,
giggling ‘til the tears run down, as you do a silly walk.
Telling everyone you know that you’re lunching with the queen,
then saying you had ‘eggy bread’, it was her preferred cuisine.

So go ahead and try them all, as it could be lots of fun,
what’s better than some wackiness, it can’t be overdone.
Life’s too short for dolefulness, so grab some fun today,
tell your friends to come on board, then lead them all astray!
