I have only just seen what you have posted. I am from Oldham, not too far from the town centre. I am originally a Mancunian but have lived here now for 22 years. I haven't developed the Oldham accent though and people sometimes comment about it saying "Oh, you're not from round here are you?" It does amuse me when I tell them how long I have lived here. I suppose once a Manc always a Manc.
