Is it too soon to resume Premier League football?
Premier League football has returned this week for the first time since lockdown began.
The remaining 92 fixtures of the season will be played behind closed doors.
All will be broadcast, including four matches on the BBC.
Though stringent measures have been put in place to help protect players and staff, and will be tested regularly, critics have pointed out that it’s nearly impossible to maintain social distancing during gameplay, and since testing began, several players and staff have tested positive.
And without the fans there to provide atmosphere, football can’t truly be said to be back in all its glory.
Others have hailed the return of football as a welcome distraction – it’s a move that signals there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
What do you think? Is it too soon to resume football when fans can’t be in the stadium, or is this form of entertainment a welcome boost?
