Hope
Hope
As we continue in lockdown it has become apparent
The coronavirus isn’t the only contaminant spreading throughout our planet
Accompanying this contagion infecting all humanity
With devastating consequences to our mental health and sanity
Akin to Pandora’s box evils of malintent anger and racism have been released
Searching for a perpetrator to blame for our sick dying and deceased
Robbing us of our lives economy and freedom
to congregate together and travel by any medium
Lockdown lethargy has surfaced despite our good intention
Releasing restrictions enforced via government intervention
Crowds protesting for an end to any quarantine
While healthcare frontliners advocate safe distancing and hand hygiene
The coronavirus is devoid of religion creed or race
Working together to find an antiviral solution is what we must embrace
Through the lens of a global microscope
collectively believing where there’s life there’s hope
