Shanks of Ham and Strawberry Jam
Whilst on holidays there was a favourite place to go
It was the weekly farmers market and flower show
Seasonal vegetables and fruit on display
beautiful flowers to make a custom bouquet
Fresh picked strawberries plump and sweet
perfect for making homemade jam to eat
Runner beans, cauliflower, lettuce and peas
carrots, scallions, new potatoes, butter and cheese
Perhaps buy a free range chicken or a leg of lamb
A prime rib roast or a shank of ham
Farm to table ingredients to make dinner and soup for the pot
bake an apple tart, best served piping hot
These cherished memories are so clear to me
While we were away on holiday in Donaghadee
