We Shall Overcome
We Shall Overcome
No bombs are falling from the sky
No sirens blare alarm
No searchlight scours the heavens above
Protecting us from harm
For the enemy is silent,
Much quieter than a mouse
Invisible and will not tell
If visiting your house
It doesn’t wear a uniform
Nor does it tote a gun
Standing apart, yet still together
Is how this war is won
Bored by staying in your home
Cooped up with shrieking kids
No theatres trips or cinema
The new isolation law forbids
Tell Rover he must cross his legs
Stop looking at his lead
He can go far as he likes
Once we all are freed
So just have patience, stay in the house
But please take heed…..don’t murder your spouse.
