Christmas in a Fortnight
Christmas in a Fortnight
Christmas in a fortnight,
oh no, that can’t be true
I haven’t started shopping yet,
there’s such a lot to do
The cards as least I’ve got ’em,
as I bought them in the sales
Searched high and low to seek ’em out,
buy more if all else fails
Save money on the wrapping,
my economy never ceases
Smooth it with the iron,
to press out nasty creases
Made a list of presents,
very early in the year
Tipped the kitchen draw out,
was sure I left it here
Suppose I should get started,
I just can’t abide this fuss
But if I don’t get my skates on,
am sure to miss the bus
As I puff up to the stop,
reassure myself at least…a
Think I would be ready
if they celebrate ’bout Easter.
