Judge me
Judge me
Judge me as equal and not by what you see,
Forget all your prejudice, I am still me,
I am what God made me and by his good grace,
I will be as your equal in our human race.
Judge me as equal do not shed a tear,
I still feel the love when your presence is near,
Though ageing and illness has worn at my frame,
Judge me as equal, I still have my brain.
I still hold the love for this life that I live,
I still take a little less than that what I give,
I still feel the joy of a brightened new morn,
And relish the light of a Summer’s new dawn.
Judge me as equal no pity I ask,
For my God has seen fit here to give me this task,
To live as I am here, to be what will be,
Judge me as equal, just judge me, – as me.
