Ode to Spring
This was written in March 2008, probably during an inclement period!
Ode to Spring
Slowly, but surely, the days are a-lengthening
Perhaps now it’s time that the sun were a-strengthening.
Raining and blowing, the weather is bad,
In raincoats and wellingtons, Don’t we look sad!
Nothing is growing except some poor grass,
Gone are the signs of the seasons that pass
Sunshine, where are you? Stop playing your game,
Peeping out one day, hiding again.
Rain stop your pouring, we’ve had our fair share,
Inundate elsewhere, see of we care!
Nobody knows just where the sun shines,
Guess it’s gone walk-about, down to the ” Strines”
( “Australians” local pronunciation……Poetic Licence permitting )
