Smart TV help needed
Watch this postHi - Can any kind soul advise on recording from a smart tv?
I have installed external usb hard drive and the tv is recording to this.
Am I correct, that only one channel can be recorded and that you cannot record a channel and watch another channel at the same time?
That the hard drive format, means cannot be played back on a windows computer?
That the tv will access my wifi laptop on network, re audio video & photo's but I cannot access the tv on my laptop, even though it is shown on the network?
Thanks

Using windows explorer, investigate the external drive and check the extension of the files ( the .XXX) bit at the end of the file name.
Quite common is a .rec format used by many PVR machines.
eg dvr2014060220134001.rec00.trp
I have just rescued a bunch of my wife's programmes from a perfectly good hard drive out of a dead PVR.
Just a note though, if they have been downloaded from sky or similar they may still be encoded.
