Penny whistle man
Penny whistle man
Play me a tune, oh ‘penny whistle man’,
Anything you like, whatever you can,
Whistle me a ditty light just to raise a song,
Just enough to make my heart, sing along.
Play me the bagpipes, make my soul swirl,
Deepen my fire with that amazing skirl,
Stirring all my passions, loyal and strong,
Just enough to make my heart, sing along.
Play me a full orchestra, echoing deep,
A ‘National Anthem’, here to keep,
Histories pride at my ‘nations song’,
Just enough to make my heart, sing along.
Play then ‘penny whistle man’, play for me,
In my head, you will always be,
Whistling a cheerful tune, right where you belong,
Just enough to make my heart – sing along!
