A Tasty Pair of Pear Recipes For Early Autumn Treats
Pears are at their best from September to October, so now’s the ideal time to rustle up an early autumn treat or two for the family. Here are a pair of tasty pear recipes from our collection to get you started.
Frangipane Tart
You will need:
- 125g Plain flour
- 25g Icing sugar
- 2 tsp Cocoa powder
- 75g Butter, slightly softened, cubed
- 100g Unsalted butter, slightly softened
- 150g Ground almonds
- 2 Eggs, whole, beaten
- 2 Eggs, yolks only
- 110g Caster sugar
- 95g Dark chocolate, melted
- 5 drops Almond essence
- 4 Poached or canned pears, cut in half
- 1 handful Flaked almonds

Baked Pears with Stilton and Honey
Method:
- 3 pears, ripe
- 1 tbsp honey
- 4 sprigs thyme
- 6 tsp Stilton
- 6 walnut halves, to garnish
