On The Road Again

We left Calgary travelled due south towards BC
Through the Crows Nest Pass and breathtaking scenery
Entered the States at Yahk without hesitation
Keen to begin the start of our spring vacation

It seemed like summer had arrived as flowers and trees were in full bloom
We enjoyed swimming at the fabulous hotel pool and relaxing in our first class room
We spent two days in the beautiful city of Spokane
Particularly famous for its powerful Upriver Hydroelectric Dam

Then drove west to Everett on the Cascade Loop byway
Along Americas Northwest most spectacular scenic highway
We passed Almira under an endless sky so blue
When suddenly the snow capped Cascade Mountains came into view

Travelled through small town America passed houses who proudly flew ‘Old Glory’
Each unique yet similar perfect settings for a Norman Rockwell story
Stevens Pass took us through the Cascades at an extreme elevation
Led us to alpine Leavenworth perfect for year round rest and recreation

The number two snaked on through mountain peaks and fertile valleys
Which nurtured vineyards and hectares of apple orchards as seen in picturesque Wenatchee
We finally reached the luxurious resort at Tulalip our intended destination
For the last two nights on this wonderful stateside vacation
