Happy to be here, say delighted Croft residents
Residents at a lifestyle-living community for the over 55s in Bourne, Lincolnshire, have been explaining how moving into their new home has made such a positive impact on their lives.
Sylvia Cook and Mavis Wilson have both downsized and bought homes at The Croft which has 68 one and two-bedroom bungalows and two and three-bedroom chalets arranged around attractively landscaped courtyards.
Developed by Larkfleet Homes and Keystone Developments, The Croft is ideal for people who enjoy a lifestyle full of possibilities.
Sylvia previously lived in a large three-bedroom property and moved into a two-bedroom bungalow at The Croft just before Christmas. She was attracted to the development because it offered her a secure community environment.
“My previous property was in a fairly isolated cul-de-sac that looked onto extensive open fields. I feel much more secure here and have made great friends with my two neighbours already.
“Here, I have the security of close neighbours but the design of the development also means my property is in a nice quiet area, secluded from the hustle and bustle of Bourne.
“Unlike other age-exclusive developments I looked at, properties at The Croft are well laid out, not in large blocks that I have seen so often before.”
Mavis, who moved into her new home in September, also describes how her life has changed for the better since she arrived at The Croft.
“The Croft really is conveniently located to the centre of Bourne,” said Mavis. “I rarely drive anywhere now as many local amenities are so close they are in easy walking distance. I have a daughter and grandchild in Bourne so visiting them and other friends is very easy.”
Sylvia also enjoys the convenience of her new home being within easy walking distance of the town centre, with a doctor’s surgery, bus stop, supermarkets, shops, cafés and restaurants all close by.
“Bourne offers so much that I usually end up popping into the town once a day as there is so much to do,” she says. “I’m looking forward to going into Peterborough on the bus too. My neighbours say the bus drops you off right outside John Lewis!”
Larkfleet Homes managing director Karl Hick is delighted that both residents are happy in their new homes.
He said: “The Croft offers residents the opportunity for varied, independent lifestyles, without the worry of property maintenance which is a clear ‘pull’ factor for many of our new buyers”.
Mavis has another reason to feel happy with The Croft. She is £1,000 better off after receiving a cheque for £1,000 from Larkfleet Homes for recommending the development to a friend.
Larkfleet Homes runs a reward scheme which pays £1,000 to a resident of any of its developments who recommends the same development to a friend or family member – and their recommendation results in a sale.
The friend or family member also receives a £1,000 voucher to spend in Larkfleet’s Just for You Centre which provides extras to personalise a new home such as alternative taps, extra sockets, fireplaces, carpets, curtains or light fittings.
The friend that Mavis recommended to the development to has also recently moved in at The Croft and is enjoying a secure environment and independent lifestyle.
Karl Hick added: “It was a pleasure to present Mrs Wilson with a cheque for £1,000. It is important to us to maintain our high levels of quality building and customer service so that our residents are confident in recommending Larkfleet properties to friends and family.”
There is no limit to the number of successful recommendations so Larkfleet residents could benefit from the reward scheme several times over.
