A face like mine

Have a tooth in need of attention
Off to the Dentist, I must go
Ringing that dreaded number
Is that the Dentist? Oh hello.

They got me in that morning
You need a filling, and it’s quite a size
Anything to take the pain away
An injection would be quite wise.

Now I have to warn you
The filling may not do the trick
You may have to have it extracted
Time to go, get out of here quick.

Then I just popped into the supermarket
Greeted by a lady I’d not met before
Asking me how I was feeling
Her children ran off, headed straight for the door.

After calling my regular taxi
He arrived with a smile on his face
I asked him if I looked normal
Or does something look out of place?

Depends on what you call normal
Yes, your mouth is down on one side
Good job I don’t frighten too easily
That’s why the children ran out to hide.

No, the filling didn’t fix the problem
Now had pain down the side of my face
Feels like I  had a permanent smile on
That put my jawline right out of place.

The tooth has now been extracted
The kind lady and children are fine
Next time you go to the dentist
Check your face looks nothing like mine!
